Designs include:

  • Three station locations:
    • Shoreline South/148th Station.
    • 15th Ave NE Station (NE 145th St and 15th Ave NE).
    • 30th Ave NE Station (NE 145th St and 30th Ave NE).
  • Improving roadway, driveway, and sidewalk/planting strips.
  • Widening the roadway for bus lanes and new sidewalks westbound between 8th Ave NE and 6th Ave NE, in both directions between approximately 12th Ave NE and 17th Ave NE, and widening the intersection at NE 145th St and Bothell Way NE.
  • Upgrading and relocating utilities.
  • Creating stormwater management systems.
  • Adding retaining walls along the north and south sides for sections of NE 145th St.

Designs include:

  • Three station locations:
    • NE 153rd St Station (SR 522 and NE 153rd St).
    • NE 165th St Station (SR 522 and NE 165th St).
    • Ballinger Way Station (SR 522 and Ballinger Way NE).
  • Adding a dedicated bus lane for the entire length of the project segment.
  • Adding stormwater infrastructure and utilities.
  • Repurposing of the existing two-way left-turn lane to reduce the project footprint.
  • Building a new sidewalk and planting strip on the east side of SR 522 for safe pedestrian access.
  • Building retaining walls along the west and east sides for sections of SR 522 between NE 147th St and 41st Ave NE.
  • Adding a connection to the Burke-Gilman Trail at 41st Ave NE to allow for continuous pedestrian access from NE 145th St to Ballinger Way NE.

Designs include:

  • Three station locations:
    • 61st Ave NE Station (SR 522 and 61st Ave NE).
    • 68th Ave NE Station (SR 522 and 68th Ave NE).
    • Kenmore Park-and-Ride (SR 522 and 73rd Ave NE).
  • Relocating utilities around BRT stations.
  • Improving the stormwater management system.
  • Eliminating the right-turn pocket at SR 522 and 61st Ave NE to clarify the traffic flow, in partnership with the City of Kenmore.
  • Connecting SR 522 and 61st Ave NE for pedestrians.

  • Adding a new U-turn on SR 522 between the 96th Ave NE and Hall Rd intersections.
  • Repurposing the center two-way left-turn lane to an eastbound bus bypass lane and slightly widening SR 522, including a new sidewalk and planting strip.
  • Building retaining walls along the corridor and sidewalk improvements.
  • Improving stormwater management systems and other utilities.
  • Adding new traffic signals at the NE 185th St/104th Ave NE and NE 185th St/Beardslee Blvd intersections.
  • Building a new mid-block signalized crosswalk at the UW Bothell/Cascadia College Station location.
